Spectroscopy using stimulated electron–ion recombination

چکیده
Spectroscopic results obtained on multiply charged few-electron ions by using laserstimulated two-step recombination in ion storage rings are presented in an overview. Line splittings in transitions between Rydberg levels were observed for helium-like and berylliumlike ions. Emphasis is given to results on the beryllium-like system N where information about the splitting between high angular momentum levels (l > 4) was obtained for the Rydberg levels n = 13 and 8 with experimental errors of about ±0.02 meV.

Relativistic, QED and nuclear effects in highly charged ions revealed by resonant electron-ion recombination in storage rings
Dielectronic recombination (DR) of few-electron ions has evolved into a sensitive spectroscopic tool for highly charged ions. This is due to technological advances in electron-beam preparation and ion-beam cooling techniques at heavy-ion storage rings. Recent experiments prove unambiguously that DR collision spectroscopy has become sensitive to 2nd order QED and to nuclear effects. This review ...

متن کاملPreparation of Labile Ni+(cyclam) Cations in the Gas Phase Using Electron-Transfer Reduction through Ion–Ion Recombination in an Ion Trap and Structural Characterization with Vibrational Spectroscopy
Gas-phase ion chemistry methods that capture and characterize the degree of activation of small molecules in the active sites of homogeneous catalysts form a powerful new tool to unravel how ligand environments affect reactivity. A key roadblock in this development, however, is the ability to generate the fragile metal oxidation states that are essential for catalytic activity. Here we demonstr...
متن کاملThe mechanism of electron–cation geminate recombination in liquid isooctane
Electron–cation geminate recombination in isooctane has been reinvestigated by femtosecond spectroscopy. The observed recombination kinetics are well-fit by a single exponential decay (s = 400 ± 40 fs) and exhibit a significant hydrogen/deuterium kinetic isotope effect. The kinetics are not affected by varying the incident intensity or by exciting the recombining electrons with a high power 800...

Today, electron leakage in InP-based separate confinement laser diode has a serious effect on device performance. Control of electron leakage current is the aim of many studies in semiconductor laser industry. In this study, for the first time, a new asymmetric waveguide structure with n-interlayer for a 1.325 μm InP-based laser diode with InGaAsP multi-quantum well is proposed and theoreticall...
